Protecting Your Hair From Chlorine

Source

Summer days at the pool can be fun and refreshing, but remember to protect you hair from the damaging effects of chlorine. Chlorine sucks the natural oils and sebum from your scalp away, which can produce a dull, damaged look. Your hair can become brittle and break. Here are some steps to take before and after a swim:

Before swimming...
  • Wet your hair with regular water and add a leave in conditioner before entering the water
  • Consider wearing a swim cap for protection
After swimming...
  • Rinse your hair out thoroughly (do not let hair dry with chlorine)
  • Use a shampoo that contains aloe or glycerin (i.e. Tri-Swim shampoo)
  • Deep condition or hot oil treat

  2. People sometimes get excited to just jump into the pool without getting a shower first. I use TRISWIM products as well.
