Natural Diva Spotlight: My Mommy!!

Image
Twist Out After a couple years of suggesting and pleading.....She finally agreed to let the relaxer go. NO LYE! lol The Why For various reasons, my Mom's hair was beginning to thin and break off and the harsh chemicals every 6 weeks was not helping. She finally decided to give her tresses a break and July 2012 was the last time she put a relaxer in The How Wigs are a lady's best friend! Regimen Pretty simple regimen. Keep it washed and minimal heat applied. I used henna to color her very few and far between grays (shhhh!). I used Moroccan henna from Henna Sooq ....great place! Happily Ever After I am happy to report that her hair is getting stronger, growing, and she only has normal hair shedding. As of yesterday, she is completely natural!! *****Keep Learning, Living, and Loving Your Natural Hair

Halloween Natural Hair

Halloween was a treat! It was so much fun playing with my hair and it looks good on a witch lol. I did a normal twist out then used blue can spray to give it that witch look. Loads of fun! Happy Halloween!

Product Review: Oyin Handmade Shine & Define

Image
Cost: $6.00-$18.00 (various sizes) Claim: A creamy styling serum with a light hold that creates a shine and gentle definition. Free of sulfates, parabens, and silicones. Ingredients: Purified water, Organic flax seeds, Organic aloe vera gel, Sea Vegetable Complex, Coconut Oil, Castor, unrefined shea butter, organic raw honey, Vegetable Glycerine, Palm Stearic Acid, Vegetable Emulsifying Wax, fruit pectin, xanthan gum, destrose, Optiphen (preservative) citrus essential oils, fragrance REVIEW This was one of my Black Friday deals I was excited about! I purchased it through the Oyin Handmade website for only $9.60. The citrus scent is pleasant and not overwhelming. I love the consistency of this product. It is lightweight and not heavy or greasy. It can be applied to wet or damp hair for a wash and go. I used it for my twist out. Over the holidays, I received a lot of compliments on how soft my hair looked. My twist out actually lasted a whole 4 days...record breakin...

Twist Updo

Image
I sectioned my hair into two sections. Front section I did two strand twists. Second section I did flat twists (got to get used to twisting from the back). You can wear this style with the twists for awhile and then take them out for the "twist out".

Revisited Knot Today by Kinky Curly

Image
First, let me start by saying, it is COLD and WINDY!!! #NotCool I have had my Knot Today for almost a year now and have not emptied the bottle. I tried using it for a few weeks, but put it down because I noticed nothing special. Then, I used it in fellow YouTuber KimmayTube's leave-in . Last night I decided to try it again. I wet my hair with my water spritzer (water+aloe vera juice) and applied it in sections before twisting. This morning I took them out and they turned out really well...and super soft. It was a rainy day out and endured the mist. This pic was taken at the end of the day. Guess I will bring it back to use now!
